Gellatly Bay Goats Peak Community Association (GBGPCA) Executive Zoom Meeting

Meeting Attendees: David Patterson, Jo-Ann Patterson, Kathy Pasmore, Kathy Hogan Lordon, Nicole Waidman, Terri Schredl

Meeting Agenda:

  1. Introductions 
  2. Welcoming of our newest executive member Kathy Hogan Lordon
  3. Property across from Willow Beach
    • At present there are no official applications for development, however, we understand talks with the City’s Planning department have started
    • We will watch for signage to be posted on the property and at that time will gather input to submit to Council accordingly
  4. Discussion regarding invitation to Mayor Milsom
    • It was requested we extend an invitation to introduce our association to the Mayor with a goal of developing a positive relationship and open lines of communication
    • It was recommended no more than two members join this call
    • Jo-Ann will send out a meeting request to the Mayor
  5. Crown and Thieves access
    • The association prepared and provided a letter to City Council on this initiative
    • An additional letter was to be prepared for the winery owner, however, since our meeting Council has approved their liquor license citing public access via Brown Road
  6. Gellatly Road Traffic Circle
    • A roundabout at Gellatly and Carrington along with walking trail down to Gellatly/Boucherie is currently including in the 2021 Draft Budget
    • Kathy P. will enquire on the project status and also highlight the increased traffic and backed up left turn lane 
    • It appears the original study for this project was done several years ago
  7. Draft Regulations for Short Term Rental
    • The association prepared and provided a letter to City Council on this initiative
    • Overall most issues were agreed upon, with opinions divided between suites and carriage homes being included
    • We will continue to monitor this initiative and encourage enforcement of bylaws
