GBGPCA Meeting with City of West Kelowna

In March 2022 our association President met with the City’s Chief Administrative Officer, Paul Gipps, and Planning Manager, Brent Magnan, to discuss the recent purchase of 4251 Gellatly Road for parkland and the latest updates on the Gellatly rezoning application. During this meeting the City was able to confirm:

  • the parkland purchase and noted that work would be started to improve pedestrian and bike access along Whitworth and provide better access to Goats Peak
  • the Gellatly rezoning application has been put on hold pending release of the new OCP (anticipated this Summer)
  • the new short term rental regulations are now active and enforceable so if you operate a short term rental be sure to apply for your license

We are also happy to report that the City continues to express keen interest in extending a multi-use pathway along the lake to help ease vehicular congestion and promote access to all communities in West Kelowna.
