The GBGPCA ran an online survey to gather feedback from our members in June of 2021. The questionnaire was sent out through our quarterly member email with a goal of learning more about our members and how we can help your voice be heard. In August we were able to meet and review the overall survey responses which we are pleased to pass along to you in summary below:
- We had a 26% response rate to the survey
- Majority of respondents:
- have resided in this neighbourhood for 5+ years
- have been residents of West Kelowna for 5+ years
- are 56+
- reside in a home with 2 adults and 0 kids
- When asked for feedback on our association’s activity over these past months majority of respondents strongly supported our voice:
- Access to Crown and Thieves (4.4 out of 5)
- Goats Peak development letter (4.4 out of 5)
- Committee as a Whole – Development (4.3 out of 5)
- Committee as a Whole – Enforcement (4.3 out of 5)
- Committee as a Whole – Infrastructure(4.3 out of 5)
- Committee as a Whole – Safety and Access (4.3 out of 5)
- Short Term Rental (4 and 4.2 out of 5)
- Vision (3.9 out of 5)
- Respondents are satisfied with the work we are doing, the association’s website, and the current communication we provide
- There is an interest in attending an AGM in-person (64%), however, virtual (49%) attendance is also of interest
- Respondents rated the following possible upcoming initiatives for the association as (in order of priority):
- Helping to ensure proper infrastructure (roads, water, sidewalks, etc.) is in place to properly support new developments (72%)
- Restricting the height and type of new developments in our neighbourhood (72%)
- The preservation of existing trails, parks and beaches (64%)
- Providing feedback and input on the upcoming City of West Kelowna OCP (36%)
- Restricting public parking in our residential neighbourhoods (18%)
- Promoting an increase of bylaws enforcement in our neighbourhood (15%)
